Childhood Memory

These twenty items are my childhood memory. When I drew these objects, they brought me back to a young age, and I was still learning everything and trying to explore the world. When I first saw my sister play guitar, I was amazed. This weird shape can create music. I always love music, and my parent loves playing music on the radio and the phonograph. I remember later we got a lot of speakers at home. At a young age, I did not know the difference between all the music players. While my dad connected his sound combination, I sketched on the coffee table.

I think all the objects that surround us are beautifully designed. Like these three objects, I choose to refine them. Undoubtedly, all these designers use their left brain and their right brain together. Not only are they functional, but they are also very creative. It is simple I copy their shape out in Adobe Illustration, but I cannot imagine how long it took the designer to design a guitar, a radio and a phonograph. Everything we see around us is the result of someone's creativity, from the hat we wear to the instrument we play. I think without creativity, our world would be a very dull place.

For my final project, I will make a Shadow Play scene. This is a Chinese style puppet show, and it is my parent's childhood memory. During their childhood, this kind of paper-made puppet play is one of their entertainment. When I was young, my mom also taught me how to cut them out from paper but not as detail. I plan to draw these two pictures in Rhino and use a laser machine to cut them out. Then I will make a stage for them and put some LED lights behind the scene.
